We are extremely excited to be working with Smart Online. The Susie's Law First Responders app is the first of its kind in North Carolina and is a huge technological leap for animal advocacy.
Given the constantly escalating number of Smartphone users in the country, Susie's Law Supporters realized they needed to expand their brand to where their supporters were, and increase engagement and interaction with the animal lovers of North Carolina, to stay true to their mission. They partnered with Smart Online, Inc, to develop the Susie's Law First Responders app. Smart Online is a Durham based mobile solutions provider whose SmartOn Mobile platform enables organizations to seamlessly and securely develop, deploy, publish and support efficient B2C mobile solutions.
In 2009, Susie, only a puppy, was found in Greensboro, NC, brutally beaten and burned. She had a will to survive and recovered, while Susie's perpetrator received minimal punishment. Concerned citizens knew changes had to be made, and after many months of NC citizens calling and writing letters and emails to their legislators, Susie's Law passed unanimously and went into effect December 1, 2010. Susie's Law Supporters now work towards supporting many more such animal rights bills by getting citizens to share their voice.
With Smart Online's SmartOn Mobile platform which includes the innovative ‘ActNOW!' feature, the grassroots movement can easily send supporters action alerts and urgent messages enabling them to respond anytime, anywhere. “Our platform's Mobile Management Center makes it simple for organization representatives to log in, set up an urgent message, choose the appropriate legislative committee (s), and send this message to multiple mobile and tablet devices,” says Bob Dieterle, SVP & GM at Smart Online. “The process focuses heavily on ease of use both for the organization as well as the end supporter. All that the supporter has to do when s/he sees an urgent call to action is to hit send. The email is pre-populated with the message and the recipient. This also allows organizations to control the message they want their supporters to send. It's a very flexible solution that can be easily adapted to various scenarios.”
Smart Online works with diverse organizations, and it's their deep understanding of the nonprofit industry along with their history of consultative nonprofit engagements, that has resulted in innovative features, which allow these organizations to engage and interact with more supporters, build their brand and witness a greater impact to their mission.
Animal lovers can support their efforts by downloading, using and sharing the Susie's Law First Responders App, and acting as the voice for the animals of NC. It can be downloaded directly from either the Apple App Store or the Android Market to the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad or any Android based phones and tablets.
