Funtini, the Seattle-based mobile game company, has released Flicksy, a pop culture video guessing game now available worldwide on the iTunes App Store. This innovative turn-based title overlays a trivia game on top of short-form social video sharing.
Players select from an eclectic mix of over 50 categories and convey their chosen topic by either creating a video or selecting from a deep archive of player generated flicks. The selected video gets sent to a friend who is then challenged to guess the topic. With an opponent's correct answer, both players earn game coins and are on the road to Flicksy fame!
"We believe there's more fun to be had playing with other people around a coffee table than with most of today's social video games" said Joe Lawandus, CEO of Funtini. "We're building an innovative suite of Funtini branded titles that combine our favorite classic play patterns with modern technology to create social games that actually foster interpersonal relationships. Coffee table gaming moments without the coffee table. We're leveraging technology to bring real social connections to video gaming."
Flicksy also marks the launch of Funtini's patent pending Ivite technology allowing users to play with new opponents after viewing their user-generated content. "We felt Funtini had a real opportunity to improve on the near ubiquitous random or level-based social game match-making systems that exist today," said Lawandus. "Watching and liking a video someone has created in Flicksy for example, is a great indicator of whether or not you want to play with them in the game. Ivite gives players a chance to connect with opponents they'll have the most fun playing."
Flicksy 1.1 is Free and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Games category. Coming soon to Android devices. For more information, please visit Funtini online.
