Martini, the app that sets groups of friends up on mixers in cities across the country, is making it even easier to meet new people with its 2.0 update. Available today on iOS and Android, Martini updates include Scheduled Mixers and free Daily Matches, as well as a more streamlined, group-friendly layout.
Martini lets users create groups with their friends and sets them up on mixers with other groups in their city. The mobile app eliminates the awkwardness of meeting new people one-on-one and instead creates an opportunity for a fun night out in groups. Scheduled Mixers, a new feature of Martini, allows members to choose which night(s) they are available and introduces them to groups that have the same availability.
"We launched Martini with the goal of making it easy for outgoing groups of friends to connect with each other," says Abel Acua, co-founder of Martini. "With Scheduled Mixers, we've made getting offline and meeting in person easier and better."
Groups of friends now have the option to reserve specific nights for their mixers. Members can wait to be invited out or can browse other groups and ask them out if their schedules match. Once both parties approve, a group-chat opens allowing members to coordinate their in-person, weekend mixer.
"We realize the best matchmaking comes from members themselves," says Acua. "So we're giving groups even greater control over the meetup process by providing a way to browse and invite other fun-looking groups out."
* Introducing Scheduled Mixers! Members can now reserve specific nights for their mixers and see who else in their city is free to meet up
* Daily Matches are now free! Groups will continue to receive matches at midnight, and can tap "Let's Meet" to invite their match out on a mixer
* Overall streamlined, group-friendly layout
Martini 2.0 is free and available worldwide through the App Store in the Social Networking category. It is also available on Google Play.
