Astronomy Photographer of the Year 1.0 for iPhone and iPad allows users to explore 90 breathtaking images of space on their iPad or iPhone - as featured in 'New and Noteworthy' in Reference in the US iTunes store.

Winning, runner-up and highly commended entries from all four years of the Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition are included within the app, in addition to judges' comments and technical information about each image. Browse photographs in the following categories: Earth and Space, Our Solar System, Deep Space, Young Astronomy Photographer of the Year, Best Newcomer, People and Space, and Robotic Scope.

The Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition is organized by the Royal Observatory Greenwich in association with Sky at Night Magazine and features entries from all around the globe. An exhibition featuring winning photographs from this year's competition is currently running at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, London, until 17 February 2013.
