NimbleWorks LLP today is proud to announce the release and immediate availability of Training Zones 1.0 for iOS, its new reference app for cyclists and other endurance athletes. Training Zones allows athletes to calculate their personal training zones based on their individual heart rate or power measurements. Not only does training zones provide levels it also provides detailed explanations about each of the 7 levels.
Coaches always prescribe their training in zones. So a coach might assign an athlete a session, "1 hour of zone 3", or even "1 hour of tempo". For the rider though it's always a pain to remember the upper and lower limits that they should be training in. Training Zones allows allows the athlete to quickly scan all their zone limits to see where they should be training for a session.
Each of these training zones has been calculated by professional coaches from cutting edge, peer reviewed, scientific literature. These training zones have been battle tested by coaches in the field for over 2 years. Now, they're available to all iOS users. The zones follow patterns laid out in the common training manuals for power training. Training zones also allows you to transfer these zones to heart rate based training.
