Stepping Stone Software today announced a Mobile Art Contest for art created with its award-winning app, Pen & Ink. Pen & Ink is the simplest way to create beautiful watercolor paintings and sketches on the iPad.
Anyone - from beginners to professionals - can enter the contest by downloading Pen & Ink for free from the App Store and creating an original piece of art. With Pen & Ink, it is very easy for beginners to paint with watercolor, sketch with pens and pencils, or even trace photographs. Professional artists will appreciate the wide variety of brushes, textures, color palettes and layers.
Tweet your art with hashtag #penandinkcontest and a panel of judges from both academic and art institutions will make a final decision by May 22, 2013. The winner of the contest will receive $500. In addition, the winning artist will have his or her painting displayed on the Pen & Ink website, and be noted by gallerists. Runners-up will receive a complimentary stylus and have their artwork displayed in Pen & Ink's own Art Gallery.
"iPad Art is the wave of the future," said Jennifer Emerson, a panelist and Board Member of the San Francisco Art Institute. "We really look forward to discovering new up-and-coming mobile artists."
Sarah Maxwell, Associate Professor at UT Dallas, encourages college students interested in art to enter the contest as well. "It's a great way to build up your art portfolio resume," she says.
Don't delay! Download Pen & Ink for free at the App Store now and tweet your art with #penandinkcontest for a chance to win $500.
