AppAvenger has announced their iPhone app, PlayPlaces - Ultimate Kids Road Trip App 1.3, now supports the iPhone 5 larger screen.
"We are pleased to release this update to our PlayPlaces - Ultimate Kids Road Trip application. The extra space provided by the larger screen allows us to provide even more information to our users fingertips We continue to explore interface changes that this extra screen real estate provides, but will always keep our focus on making the application the simple and easy to use." said AppAvenger founder Sean Peck.
PlayPlaces - Ultimate Kids Road Trip App was inspired when Mr. Peck took a 2,500 mile road trip with his young daughter. "Being able to plan and find places to let her run around and get some of that pent of energy out when on the road for that long was something I sure wished I had on that trip. She's a great traveler, but even with all the conveniences of today, DVD's, portable games and the like, kids still need to get that energy out. I wish I could have had this app for that trip." Mr. Peck said. So upon returning home he set about building it.
Further added to the app were locations of Rest Areas, to handle those "I Gotta Go!" moments from the backseat. No need to remember how many miles the last "next rest area" sign said, a quick glance at the app and you can know if you can make it or need to get off at the next exit.
"This is just the next step in the evolution of the product, the larger screen allows more information to be visible, but doesn't change its fundamental premise.. Useful information for the family when and where they need it."
PlayPlaces 1.3 is $3.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Travel category.
