Gary Guthrie, the brains behind the ever-growing compendium of questions, knows the kind of thing that gets music fans' grey matter turning over. "We believe that the true music fan has an insatiable appetite for trivia that not only tests their knowledge, but also informs and enlightens them about musicians and their backstories," said Gary. Spoken like a true music aficionado. Beyond familiarity with the music and lyrics, there are those who also know who designed the Led Zeppelin album covers and where Jim Morrison got his hair cut. It is the knowledge of music trivia that separates the real music lover from the rest.
Gary Guthrie is definitely someone who fits into the "real music lover' category. He has hung out backstage with everyone from KISS to John Denver, given birth to the Classic Hits/Rock format on more than 20 major market radio stations, and received gold record awards for his early support of artists like Bruce Springsteen and Meat Loaf. In the process he has amassed a library of juicy, insider information on all aspects of rock & roll. He has even become a music trivia question himself, as the radio programmer who spliced together solo versions of "You Don't Bring Me Flowers," spawning Barbra Streisand's and Neil Diamond's legendary duet.
Rock Music Trivia 2.1 for iOS is free (ad-supported) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Games category. An ad-free version is $0.99 (USD). Free and paid versions of the app are also available for Android.
