London based provider of digital storytelling resources, Day Two Productions has been awarded the national Education Resource Award for Best Early Years Resource for its 'Traditional Storyteller Apps'.

The award highlights innovative products that enhance the everyday life or work of teachers, pupils or schools; have an impact on learning; and offer cost effectiveness in terms of educational aims and results.

The Education Resources Awards were organised by the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA). The judges comprising teachers and education specialists commented that: "These apps are groundbreaking in that they introduces children to quality traditional storytelling using modern day technology available to a large section of society. It is easy to use and navigate with clear concise help given in spoken words." The judges continued: "We loved the simplicity of the recording and the facility to retell. We hope many more traditional stories from around the world will be added to this exciting and affordable collection."

Maria Brosnan, Managing Director, Day Two Productions, says, "We have always strived to create innovative and effective resources that children love and it's a huge honour for us to be recognised amongst the best of the best. We are delighted that the Traditional Storyteller apps are having such a positive and powerful impact in education."

Ray Barker, director of BESA comments: "The chosen winners reflect the needs of the education sector right now, detailing innovative and cost effective resources, exemplary companies and proven approaches. They should be seen as representing the very best in education."

To celebrate the win, all 5 apps in the series are half price for 2 weeks only and are available worldwide exclusively through the iTunes App Store in the Education category.
