Teach Me Sushi, provider of hands-on sushi-making lessons throughout the New York area, today announced the latest offering in its line of popular applications for iPhone and iPad. Teach Me Sushi iPhone combines the company's instructional sushi apps into a single, interactive guide that takes users through sushi-making basics and on to the creation of advanced, sushi rolls.
The original Teach Me Sushi app and its follow up, Teach Me Sushi Expert, have garnered acclaim with positions on the App Store's "New and Noteworthy" and "What's Hot" lists. With the first edition also earning the coveted title of "App of the Week" in the U.K. App Store, the Teach Me Sushi apps have gained fans worldwide.
Teach Me Sushi includes both of the company's iPhone apps and incorporates enhancements from the successful iPad edition as well, offering over 20 easy-to-follow demonstrational videos, step-by-step high-resolution photo guides and helpful tools to make creating sushi at home fun and easy.
Jake Davidow, trained sushi chef and Teach Me Sushi founder, felt this update was the next logical step for Teach Me Sushi's app offerings.
"One of my favorite things about giving sushi-making lessons is watching people learn," said Davidow. "They realize that it's not as difficult as it looks, and once they see there is no reason to be intimidated, they get really excited and want to try new rolls. This latest version enables users to start with the basics and work their way up all within the same app. As they feel more and more confident, they can move on to the more advanced lessons."
Teach Me Sushi provides over 90 minutes of engaging video lessons and photo instructions that detail how to create sushi dishes ranging from basic to advanced. The app also includes the ability to make use of Airplay - and allows you to watch the lessons on your TV (so long as you have Apple TV. The app also contains a shopping list tool that automatically calculates how much of each ingredient is needed based on the amount of people the user is serving. Other features include:
• Equipment lists
• Built-in rice timer and clearly defined cooking instructions
• Map, based on user's location, showing where the nearest Japanese markets are located
• FAQ video providing answers to common questions
"When we developed the Expert edition, it was in response to the wonderful feedback we received from the original and all of the requests we received for more lessons," said Davidow. "We're excited to introduce this latest version of Teach Me Sushi which enables users to experience the set as one seamless app."
