AroundMe is another app designed to make use of iPhone’s GPS to locate nearby services, similar to Where To or I Want.
What’s nice about AroundMe is that it does so without the fuss of other programs. Unlike other apps that offer up a bunch of subcategories so users can drill down to the “most accurate” results, AroundMe’s minimalist display is like finding Location Nirvana. Instead of having to click through screens for Food > Restaurant > Greek. Just choose “Restaurants” from the main screen and scroll through a list of the nearest eateries.
AroundMe excels at quick, simple searches and encourages spontaneity. Part of AroundMe’s minimalist ideals mean that there are no settings. You can’t choose search parameters such as distance and you get one page of results.
Still, AroundMe is the fastest and easiest app I’ve used to find nearby services with my iPhone. It won’t completely replace my other navigation app, but it is a useful tool for finding services — especially when I want to use a broad search context to find the closest results.

It’s surprisingly accurate, I like how it maps out a route to take to get there.
