Arthur Christmas for iOSiStoryTime, the children's digital publisher who brought us Kung Fu Panda 2 Storybook, just announced their latest film-inspired app Arthur Christmas Movie Storybook. Now available for the iPhone and iPad, this storybook features several neat activities along with the story that is based on the new 3D, CG-animated movie that premiered earlier this month from Sony Pictures Animation.

The storybook itself is a hands on story that tells the incredible, never-before-seen answer to what's on every kid's mind this time of year... how Santa delivers millions of presents in one night. Let's just say it's highly sophisticated. In fact, it's ultra-high-tech and buried deep beneath the North Pole. Beyond the gadgets, the Arthur Christmas Movie Storybook follows Santa's youngest son, Arthur as he goes on an amazing adventure to deliver a one present that was accidentally left behind. Of course, he's the last one of the family everything thought could go, but he has a few tricks up his sleeve that are sure to get a few laughs. And of course, his grandfather Grandsanta and giftwrapping-obsessed elf named Bryony come along to ensure he beats the clock.

There are several fun activities that compliment the story, such as making Arthur look like his dad Santa in the in-app digital sticker book called Snowy Arthur. Within it, the user can stick Santa beards, hair and eyebrows on Arthur. The app also includes a very useful Christmas Meter that counts down the time to Christmas. There's another in-app activity called wrap the bike where kids can help Santa wrap a gift.

On several of the pages, the reader can swipe a scroll bar to see an almost real-time video playing kind of like a flip book. And as always, the storybook features three different narration options, including Read to Me, Read to Myself and Auto Play. One of the neatest parts of the book is all of the beautiful images throughout the story like the big red S-1, which is how Santa gets around the world so quickly. It's ginormous like the Titanic.

The Arthur Christmas Movie Storybook is available in the App Store for $3.99 and features original content from the feature film, including images and character voices so that the family can enjoy the adventure before or after seeing the movie. Be sure to check out the movie too, which is directed by Sarah Smith, written by Peter Baynham & Sarah Smith, and produced by Peter Lord, David Sproxton, Carla Shelley, and Steve Pegram.
