ben stein its trivial iphone"If I were a reality show, I'd turn myself off." Ouch! That's Ben Stein slinging one of his jibes at me in his familiar monotone because I missed yet another one of his trivia questions.

Ben Stein: It's Trivial is a new iPhone game that's reminiscent of Stein’s hit show, Win Ben Stein's Money. The object here is to steal all of Stein's stuff from his estate, including his mansion, the biggest prize.

Stein challenges players to answer a series of trivia questions on three levels of increasing difficulty. Start at  "Easy Street," proceed to "Middle Ground," and finally go to "Hard Road." The game has 1,200 trivia questions in all.

Along the way, you'll earn points that you can use to toward stealing Stein's possessions. Cheex Super Monkey, Stein's co-host, will give you a hand, but first, you need to answer the trivia questions correctly and help Cheex climb to the top of a vine to win points, especially in the bonus and lightning rounds.

You can earn points in any of four categories: Pop Culture, Sports, Natural Wonders and Random Steinage.

The more points you earn, the more items Cheex can steal from Stein’s Estate. A lawn gnome is worth 75,000 points, nuclear rods are worth 200,00 and a treasure chest is worth 1,000,000. I just blew 50,000 on the chihuaha. I don't know how many points you need to steal the mansion. I haven't gotten far enough in the game but it must be like, a ginormous amount.

Ben keeps up a steady pattern of one-liners in his trademark, straight-faced delivery during the game: "You want trivia? You can't handle the trivia!" In the background plays Vegas lounge music. When you answer a question, you'll a verbal pat on the back such as "You complete me," but answer incorrectly, and you'll get an insult such as "Is 'wrong' your middle name?"

Ben Stein: It's Trivial is a captivating game and lots of fun. It will keep you, and everyone around you, entertained for hours and hours.

To promote the game, Stein will give the first 100 players who succeed in stealing the mansion an autographed diploma inducting them into the "Hall of Stein." One winner will be randomly selected to play live on TV against Stein. Submit your screen shots to Bensteinitstrivial.com.
