Experts say your brain is like a muscle: The more you exercise it, the stronger it gets. If that's true, Braineous: Challenge Your Brain, will have your gray matter as muscular as a weightlifter on 'roids before too long.
Try This Networks's app features 10 mentally challenging games that require solving math problems, matching gestures (a take on "Simon," the electronic game) and completing other puzzles under the pressure of time.
You can elect to try the training mode or jump into the deep end right away. I compared both ways, and the puzzles in training mode are deceptively easy. The regular puzzlers are much harder from the get-go.
In Braineous: Challenge Your Brain there are 10 puzzles, which you play in tiers of four. Your first objective is to complete four puzzles with a total score of at least 350. That will unlock another puzzle. The objective then is to complete the newly unlocked puzzle along with any three of the other unlocked puzzles with a total score of at least 350. Then, it's just a matter of unlocking a game, playing it and three others, and scoring a minimum total of 350 points.
I found Braineous harder than it looks. But then again, I'm not much smarter than a chicken, according to my big brother. I guess the good thing is the game will keep me busy for a long, long time.
If you think your score is tops, you can compare it to everyone else's in the whole wide world (literally).
If you're a person who can concentrate for more than a few seconds at a time, you'll enjoy flexing your mental muscles with Braineous. I'm not entirely sure how entertaining or challenging the smarter-than-average Joe will enjoy it though.
