I know... another note-taking app right? Wrong. Draw Pad Pro is much more than the run of the mill note-taking apps that have seemed to overrun the App Store. One extremely useful feature is the ability to upload and trace a photo directly within the app. Think of how useful this would be for graphic designers jotting down notes about a specific product shape. The possibilities are endless for the various uses. Here's a quick tip, this function is unlocked for free by simply sharing on a social site like Twitter. Otherwise, it's $.99 to unlock.
The app is designed so it's perfect right out of the package, but for those of us who enjoy customizing our experience, Draw Pad Pro gives the power to the user by allowing them to change everything from the color of their notebooks and pages to the background and appearance of the app itself. I'm sure there's something in there for everyone, especially since there are over 30 different papers, 15 notebook colors and 10 app themes. I rather enjoyed the hardwood floor and concrete textures as my background and black with silver sheen for my notebook cover and big grid for my paper default.
The best part about the paper is that it can be different for each page. Use plain paper on one or graphing paper for the other. This is ideal for when a project requires multiple inputs such as a storyboard that has text and general notes as well as photos and sketches. Of course, there are a variety of colors to choose from for writing or sketching as well as several different ink thicknesses. If the user's notebook requires a lot of photos fear not as they are easily loaded from the library and can be sized and rotated to fit the proper area.
Now that we have a beautifully laid out notes section, drawing, photo collage and design of our new living room, what do we do with it is the next question. Here is another area that Draw Pad Pro really shines in that it has all the functionality of a proper laptop or desktop so the user can Tweet, email and AirPrint directly from the app. The notebooks can even be exported (single page or in entirety) as a PDF file or to Dropbox or GoodReader.
