Easy Recipes is a free application that gives you 50 new recipes right on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Created by Robert Maran and Deidra Jones, Easy Recipes is incredibly user friendly and full of great ideas to make your next dinner party a huge success.
Easy Recipes is incredibly user friendly and provides a number of different ways to browse the large amount of recipes. On the home page the recipes are grouped as categories ranging from Starters to Desserts. There is even a “Potpourri” category and “Mocktails” which features some great drink ideas as well.
If you are having trouble locating something on the home page or if you are simply looking for something more specific, you can choose the Search option or even check out at all the recipes at once in “All Recipes.” This is particularly helpful if you have a craving for something in particular or want to quickly find a recipe that you visited earlier.
Once you have chosen something that sparks your culinary fancy you are greeted with a full screen image of the item featuring a new menu with options to view the recipe and the ingredients. Both the recipe and ingredient information is thoughtfully laid out and easy to follow.
For those of us who have trouble making up our minds there is also a Random section among the main menu options. Here you can “Whisk for a Random Recipe” by shaking your iPhone or iPod Touch. If you don’t like what you get the first time, just shake again.
Since it’s not only well made but also free, Easy Recipes is a must have for anyone who likes to try new things in the kitchen. That said, if there are future updates it might be nice to have a the ability to choose favorites and rate or make some notes on the recipes you have tried. But again, Easy Recipes comes with a free price tag so there is not much to complain about.
