If you were ever into things like Where's Waldo? and I Spy, it seems like FindIT Carnival by Granet Entertainment should be right up your alley. It's a great way to work on your powers of observation. (It's also a great way to encounter scary clowns like the one at left, though, so be prepared!)
FindIT Carnival offers fifty levels; fifty photos from carnivals from Korea to Kansas City. Each photo has two versions which appear side-by-side, with subtle differences.
The object of the game, of course, is to spot the differences between the two versions of each photo. As you progress through FindIT Carnival, the levels get more difficult. You can't proceed to the next level without clearing the one before it; luckily, there are hints available if you really get stuck. Only one hint per level, however, so choose your battles!
Gameplay in FindIT Carnival is pretty intuitive. You can scroll or zoom in on the photo (only the left version, but the right version shifts in unison), and you simply tap on the differences in the photo on the right to make a star appear and mark each of the five differences.
FindIT Carnival has four different difficulty settings, ranging from Zero Time Level, in which you have an unlimited time to solve each level (but earn no points!) up through Hard Level, in which you have only two minutes to find all the differences in the photos shown. I had no trouble finding the differences in the early levels in under two minutes, but I'm guessing that by the time you've gotten through more of the levels, two minutes will feel like quite the race against time.
FindIT Carnival allows you to create up to five user profiles, so that you can save the preferences (such as difficulty level and music volume) and puzzles solved for multiple players.
The photos used in FindIT Carnival are generally really lovely, and the music is surprisingly good, I thought; very moody and interesting, sort of Cirque du Soleil-ish in nature. While I'm not necessarily convinced that this app is worth $1.99, if you're a fan of spot-the-difference type games, this one is a good one. The original FindIT is also available, as well as FindIT Lite, a free trial version.
