Nice description. But do you know what happens if iDicto gets wiped off your iPhone? Is there a way to retrieve the recordings? It happened to me and I’m desperate to get the recordings back. (Interviews with an elderly uncle I may never see again!)

You are entirely correct. I realized I had overlooked the audio-quality feature while my review was pending and I intended to amend it. I also planned to hike my rating by a point because in retrospect I feel my initial review was overly harsh. I failed to do either of those two things until now. Thanks for the slap on the side of the head. I needed it.

I’m pretty sure you’ll find a low/good/best setting in the in-app prefs directly above the switch to set AIFF/CAF format. And Apple apparently disallows recording from the phone… until that changes, no recorder apps will allow that.
