iWebTrack, a developer, already markets Web tracking apps for Research in Motion's BlackBerry and Windows Mobile smartphones.
iWebTrack claims to be one of the first Web analytics providers to offer a public API, which is named Open iWeb API, for third-party developers. The Open iWeb API enhances iWeb Track functionality by providing access to iWebTrack's raw data thus enabling third-party developers to create customizable reports, the company says.
iWebTrack's iPhone Application Development Competition is open to everyone and runs from now until May 1, 2009. Contestants must develop an iPhone Web analytics app designed specifically for iWebTrack. The winner will be announced on May 15 and will be awarded a $5,000 grand prize.
Submissions will be judged based on ease of use, features, GUI, ease of navigation, performance and overall application speed.
Visit Open iWeb for detailed contest information. To enter, you must register (it's free).
There are at least two apps in the App Store that enable iPhone users to access their Google Analytics accounts and they are Zap Bang Done's Analytics Pro ($3.99) and AnalyticsApp's Analytics App ($5.99).
