According to Gizmodo, ATT and Apple are trying to work on an Apple app for "tethering" your iPhone service to a regular mac -- in other words, using the phone to provide internet connectivity to the desktop.

The Mobile Phone Telescope is a nice add-on to the iPhone and the first of its kind that I've seen.
The equipment consists of two pieces - a clear plastic cover for one side of the phone, and another clear plastic cover connected to a basic telescope for the other side.
This game has ZERO learning curve. Just put your finger down and don’t let go. The app keeps track of how long you can keep your finger pressed.

According to the Android Developers Blog Google is working on a version of App Store for the Android platform, dubbed the "Android Market". Screen shots indicate that there apps may have access to your GPS location, and there is a mention of background running processes, a feature clearly missing in version 2.0 of iPhone.

I don’t know how many times I’ve needed a level and haven’t had one on hand. It is one of those thing that is usually too big for the toolbox so I don’t often considering buying one.
