Sexy iPhone Apps to Occupy You Until Summer Comes

Nine Inch Nails’ front man Trent Reznor recently assailed Apple for blocking an update to the band’s iPhone app because it used “objectionable words.” Apple has long maintained that only G-rated material would make it to the display windows of the App Store.
Despite this recent dust up, Apple looks to be prepared to loosen its [...]

Mafia Games Round Up: Who is the iPhone Don?

Due to popular demand, we’re devoting a feature here that gives you the skinny on many of the Mafia games that have infiltrated the App Store. The jump in popularity for this emerging style of game can largely be traced to its MySpace/Facebook beginnings with Mob Wars leading the way.
To borrow some language from my [...]

Mariner Calc Goes Head to head with MobileFiles Pro for Excel files

Mariner Calc Goes Head to head with MobileFiles Pro for Excel files

Mariner Software’s Mariner Calc is the second app that I’ve looked at on the App Store’s productivity shelf capable of viewing and editing Microsoft Excel spreadsheet (.xls) files. The first was Quickoffice’s MobileFile’s Pro, which I liked very much.
Both apps handle Excel files on the iPhone in nearly identical ways. They feature the ability to [...]

Drink Pro vs. Party Pro Lite: Bigger is Not Always Better

I am a bartender, so I am always on the lookout for helpful bartending resources. Drink Pro and Party Pro Lite are just two of a number of available iPhone apps that provide you with drink recipes.

Search and Browse the Web without Leaving a Trail of Crumbs

Personal iPhone/iPhod touch privacy is top of mind for everyone these days, which probably explains the sudden influx of apps — such as PrivateWeb, Privateer and Anonymous Web Browser — into the App Store that promise to wipe the trail of crumbs you leave behind when you’re on a surfing safari.

These apps are useful if you share your iPhone/iPod touch with a nosy relative or neighbor. They might also come in handy if you happen to leave your handheld on your desk at the office and the guy in the cube next to you decides to mess with it when you’re in your manager’s office explaining why you spend all your time surfing instead of working.

Access Your Computer Remotely With These iPhone Apps

If you need to access your home or office desktop while you’re out and about, take a look at Jugaari’s Jaadu Remote Desktop, Carter Harrison’s WinAdmin or LogMeIn’s LogMeIn Ignition (we reviewed the latter not long ago).
All three are RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) clients for your iPhone and in most ways they’re similar. The big [...]

Like many Apple, Mac and iPhone enthusiasts, AppCraver is visiting Macworld this week. In addition to packing clothes, business cards and a whole bag of technology I had the unique experience of “packing” my iPhone as well. Sound odd? Let me explain.
A few weeks ago, I hit the magic number 148 apps. The brick wall [...]
