Sex and the City Organizes Your Closet

sex and the city: carrie's closet appThe über-successful Sex and the City franchise just came out with an iPhone app.  After the hit TV series and last summer's success movie, Warner Bros. released the free Sex and the City: Carrie's Closet app, which offers different links related to the series as well as a photo cataloging tool for the user's closet.

The Sex and the City: Carrie's Closet app includes a camera, allowing you to photograph your clothes, shoes or accessories, which can then be named, tagged and cataloged. Outfits can then be created with the pictures, which can be sent to friends for input and feedback. So for those ladies who have good friends that live far away Carrie's Closet is a great way to share fashion ideas or to get an opinion when unsure about a new look. And anyone with too much time on their hands and a slight case of OCD when it comes to their closet will enjoy the cataloging function as well.

Music from the show and movie plays while the app is open. The only way to turn it off is to mute the phone, which can get annoying but makes sense in terms of the studio's soundtrack marketing. Furthermore Sex and the City: Carrie's Closet includes a media gallery of pictures from the series as well as the movie trailer and a few songs from the soundtrack. And with a wish list function showing a variety of Sex and the City merchandise, Warner Bros. is definitely luring the already shopping-friendly fans of Carrie Bradshaw and Co. But for anyone who loves the series and loves fashion Sex and the City: Carrie's Closet app can be fun to play around with.

Looks like a lame application, good for little girls who adore sex and the city....But then again how many little girls have iPhones?

  • Neal H

Good for girls with no fashion sense, that way they could send messages to their friends showing how stupid they look.

  • Tyler Durden

Ha Ha I'm just waiting for someone who loves this application to refute that comment.

This is just another example of how Warner Bros over merchandized the Sex and the City movie. I loved the series, but the movie was a great big commercial! No way would I bring this app on my phone.

However, to the boys above... I wouldn't be so bold as to judge people that do want play dress up with their iphone. To each their own.

Love this app. Very time consuming photographing all the clothes, shoes and jewelery, but for those with multiple closets and drawers crammed with folded cloths it's nice to have a clear organized view of everything you can wear without forgetting a shirt thats buried under the rest.

I think just using the site is much easier... for one reason, not everyone has an iphone. Plus it allows you much more capabilities to organize your stuff.
