THOR: Son of Asgard Goes Free with Appoday Partnership

There's nothing better than a free app. Check that. There's nothing better than an outstanding app that you've been eying for a while that has just gone free. Appoday, a free app deal of the day service, has partnered with Disney Mobile (via Marvel Entertainment) to make THOR: Son of Asgard free for a limited time. The 3D action game is based on the Marvel comic book hero Thor, whom, you as the player get to play and defend Odin's Kingdom of Asgard from her enemies.

One of the best aspects of the game is that the story is an original that was penned by Marvel writers ( Bryan J.L. Glass). Beyond the visual eye candy from the game, the app also features comic panels from Marvel artist Ron Lim. 

THOR: Son of Asgard starts out with Thor discovering that his father's Kingdom, Asgard, is under siege and he must wield his prized hammer to battle and overcome an onslaught of enemies on the path to restoring peace. Of course, you'll have to navigate through magical portals and discover worlds such as Jotunheim, Alfeim and the obvious Asgard to stop the invasion and save Sif from her captors.

Throughout THOR: Son of Asgard, you can join forces with classic characters from the comic book such as The Warriors Three, Sif, and Loki. One of the coolest aspects of the game is the ability to channel the energy of lightning to defeat enemies such as Dark Elves, Trolls, Frost Giants, and the Midgard Serpent.

Originally priced at $2.99, the partnership with Appoday brings the price down to free, a welcomed change to fans and gamers alike.
