Tic-A-Tac Poker, from Treemo Labs, is a mashup of Tic-Tac-Toe, Poker and social networking. Surprisingly, they all go well together.
You have three games to choose from:
- Tic-A-Tac Poker is similar in concept to the kiddie game. Cards replace Xs and Os and the object is to make as many three-card poker hands as you can with the least number of discards.
- Poker Challenge is similar to Tic-A-Tac Poker, but this time you’re playing against the clock.
- Draw Poker is based on three or five card draw poker. Each time you win a hand you can place a card on the Tic-A-Tac Poker table and earn additional points by making three-card hards.
All three games are entertaining, although I don’t find them as addictive as some other reviewers have said. Luck plays a big part of these three games. To me, these games are “sorta-like poker.” I prefer playing a more-realistic poker game like Zynga’s Live Poker 40K, even though that game is much more expensive.
What I found most compelling is how the developers tied game play into a card-carrying community. Sign up and you can view leaderboards, track your stats, participate in a forum, post text and images and send emails. It’s a way for like-minded folks to engage with the game on a completely different level.
Tic-A-Tac Poker features comprehensive instructions and the option of changing design on the front and back of your playing cards. Tic-A-Tac Poker is a rich-looking app too.
