“An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.”
— Benjamin Franklin
Virtues-Benjamin Franklin has graced us with a lifetime of profound quotes and untold numbers of inventions. I’m willing to bet that someone reading this is utilizing electricity and wearing a pair of bifocals, both Ben Franklin inventions. But this man of many ideas, and words also sought to improve his character. He developed a system of tracking his ability to attain certain virtues daily.
Benjamin Franklin attributed much of his success to the daily virtue tracking. Thanks to Virtues iPhone app by Equilibrium Enterprises, Inc., you too can implement his secrets to success.
Virtues iPhone app is a fun way to track your day, week, month etc. Utilizing the thirteen original Benjamin Franklin preset virtues you are able to track,
- Temperance
- Order
- Resolution
- Frugality
- Moderation
- Industry
- Cleanliness
- Tranquility
- Silence
- Sincerity
- Justice
- Chastity
- Humility
Virtues iPhone app allows you to select one or as many virtues as you want to track. If not sure you can use the select a random virtue option. You may even create your own virtue to track.
Using the Virtues iPhone app you select a virtue to track for a period of time and rate yourself according to that virtue daily. You can set a target score, add or subtract from your score using half point incremental changes. While doing so you are conscious of your daily character and behavior. Should you be forgetful you can activate an iPhone Badge reminder to assure you keep your daily commitment. The instructions suggest that you track one virtue at a time especially in the beginning. Benjamin Franklin was said to track one a week. Allowing him to track each of his thirteen virtues four times a year.
Virtues iPhone app is a lot of fun. Tracking yourself by virtue also makes you very self-aware. If you are honest in your scoring you will at times see fluctuations in your scoring of certain virtues. The goal is to improve. At the end of your week did you meet your target goal? I found Virtues to be almost addictive but the hard part was realizing that there are times that I had to subtract a point or two. The upside since using this app I’ve been much more aware and a little more productive. And anyone that gave us such quotes as,
“Be civil to all; sociable to many; familiar with few; friend to one; enemy to none.” -”Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.” -“Three men can keep a secret if two of them are dead.”
is okay by me. If all those success books are right and modeling yourself after successful people Virtues iPhone app by Equilibrium Enterprises, Inc, puts me one step closer to genius.

hmmmm…. Chastity?
From what I hear, Benjamin had a hard time with that one…

Shiraz, you are mistaken. Humility was the last addition to the list and Benjamin had a tough time taming that one according to history. Seems he was a proud person and love to boast a lot about his achievement, who doesn’t actually?
