Lightwood Games is delighted to present Word Search 10K v.1.0, the largest word search puzzle ever made! It’s available now on the App Store and is a free download for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
With more than 10,000 words hidden in a grid of 90,000 letters, the game is sure to keep word puzzlers happily occupied for many, many hours. In fact, it’s estimated that it will take even accomplished wordsmiths more than 100 hours to solve the puzzle.
Word Search 10K was compiled from the massive puzzle library in Word Search Party, also by Lightwood Games, and commemorates the remarkable milestone of 10,000 user-submitted puzzles. Among Word Search Party’s unique features is the ability for users to create and share their own puzzles by simply entering a list of words. Once checked for spelling, duplication and to make sure they’re suitable for all ages, they are added into the library of puzzles for anyone to play.
The giant word search is hand-crafted with words arranged into one continuous puzzle containing 100 different themed sections. Thanks to thousands of amazing contributions there’s some fantastic variety! To solve Word Search 10K, you’ll have to find words from categories as diverse as boys’ names, hair styles and accountancy. You’ll visit London, Las Vegas and outer space. You’ll encounter spiders, vampires and fictional horses. You’ll be transported from ancient Egypt, through the world of dreams and to the end of days.
Lightwood Games has already begun the application process to get Word Search 10K into the record books and a giant poster will be unveiled at an official world record attempt event in July. Replica posters and a book containing the puzzle spread over 100 pages are online. The current world record is held by Mel Crow of Utah, USA, who presented a poster containing 5,500 words in January 2013.
Word Search 10K v.1.0 is free and available worldwide through the App Store in the Games category.
