A nonfungible token (NFT) is a blockchain data unit that ensures that a piece of data is unique and thus untransferable. NFTs can be used to represent photographs, videos, audio, and other types of digital material. On the other hand, the buyer of the NFT has complete access to any duplicate of the original file. While anyone can access replicas of these digital items, NFTs are maintained on blockchains to give the holder a valid identification that is different from copyright.

Dolce & Gabbana, an Italian international fashion house will launch its non-fungible token (NFT) line on the luxe platform UNXD late next month to “connect the tangible with the metaphorical.”

UNXD is based on Polygon, a layer 2 networking that aims to be less expensive than Ethereum’s mainnet in terms of transaction fees.

Burberry, the British luxury fashion house, collaborated with Mythical Games to unveil its NFT line earlier this month. Blank Block Party, a game involving digital vinyl toys known as Blanks that exist on the blockchain was included in the Burberry NFTs.

The “Collezione Genesi” collection will feature NFTs from Dolce & Gabbana co-founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. At the Alta Moda, Alta Sartoria, and Alta Gioiellleria fashion shows, the Venetian-inspired Collezione Genesi NFTs will be on exhibit.
“Dress from a Dream” is the first concept that will be emphasized.
Dolce & Gabbana is “creating NFTs that transcend their artwork from tangible to the metaphorical” with this compilation, according to UNXD COO Nick Gonzalez.

This will be the legendary brand’s first step into the non-traditional retail arena. The public premiere of the collection will take place on August 28 at the beginning of Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda fashion show in Venice, with the official bidding beginning on September 6.

Luxury society is all about showcasing premium items, so it’s no wonder that fashion trends labels have joined on board as NFTs make a comeback.
“As more businesses understand the importance of digital ownership to offer possibilities that connect with their core concept and essential identity and company, this will lay the groundwork for additional brand names to enter the area.”
