Crazy Penguin Catapult is Digital Chocolate’s first iPhone game, bursting onto the scene just one day before Chocolate Shop Frenzy. Crazy Penguin Catapult is nothing short of what you’d expect from the monster publishing house. The highly anticipated game is an adventure game with skill, precision and strategy.
In each level you must catapult the penguins towards the enemy polar bears. Crazy Penguin Catapult doesn’t automatically give you a set number of penguins for each level. You get eight chances to catapult the penguins towards the next level with the polar bears, however if you smack one into the wall you’ll have fewer penguins to use to beat the level. Sometimes you must try to get penguins through rings of fire and up really steep ice slopes. If you don’t get enough of them through you won’t be able to take out the amount of polar bears you need in order to pass the level.
Crazy Penguin Catapult is a high quality game that offers a fair amount of game play. There are three maps that players can maneuver their way around to unlock the levels. The game also offers power ups in each level like Fire, Ninja and The Twins.
Crazy Penguin Catapult offers terribly addictive game play because you don’t want to stop until you’ve made it to then next level or rescued your penguin buddy. As you move through the adventure you begin to see a story unfold. Play the game in two modes. Strategy mode where in order to win you must take over enemy territories. Campaign mode where there are over 200 penguins to launch against the polar bears.
Crazy Penguin is visually very interesting with detailed and humorous characters. The levels themselves are great looking but the graphics on the transitions can be a little cheesy. The sounds are on point and the music is good. Crazy Penguin Catapult is so addictive but it could use a few extra levels especially with its whopping $4.99 price tag.
Overall, this game is excellent and will have you obsessively tossing penguins at polar bears for hours. If you’d like to sample Crazy Penguin there is also a lite version in the App Store.
